        It works when opening the link. Just the embedded GIF doesn’t play. I have been experimenting with it and even asked the admin. It’s a Lemmy issue. Hopefully, things like this will get fixed over time.

        EDIT: What I found as a working solution is to convert the GIF/MP4 to WebP.

          Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep that in mind. Means I’ll have to convert all the gifs I have in my imgur album lmao

            You’re welcome! I have added some tips to the sidebar and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Lemmy will start supporting GIFs later on. I’ll check if the issue is reported in the bug tracker.
