I love reading! Have you read the most recent work by Mark Lawrence “The book that wouldn’t burn”? Magic libraries!
I have not. Truth be told, nowadays I mostly read web serials. The last honest-to-god book I read was… the third Alloy of Law book by Brandon Sanderson.
I love Sanderson’s works! Have you read any of his Stormlight archive? Here’s an insignificant spoiler which is a neat (!queer) fact:
Spoiler
If you take in Investiture (the basis of the magic system in the Cosmere) from Roshar (the planet the series takes place) it heals you. Sanderson has confirmed that if a transgender person were to take in that Investiture, their sex would conform to their gender. In-world gender-affirming care!
Anyway, I highly recommend the previously mentioned book. It is the beginning of a trilogy and does not suffer from the edginess issues Lawrence’s previous books have (though I enjoyed those as well).
That’s amazing.
Try as I may I haven’t been able to get into Stormlight Archives, even though I ate up all of Mistborn and Elantris. Maybe I have to give it another chance.
I know, that’s what made me forgive Sanderson’s previously wrongheaded comments. It made me very happy to read.
If you read any more of his works, send me a message! I love to talk about it, I’m a huge nerd. I’ll probably go to one of the next Dragonsteel cons, even.
P.S.: If you prefer webcomics recently, maybe give White Sand a read? It is a graphic novel.
